Meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister
12th January was the day when we had our dialogue session and dinner with our Deputy Prime Minister, Tan Sri Dato' Haji Muhyiddin Yassin at Malaysian High Commission.
Previous Winter Holiday
I have been extremely busy recently. With my assignments starting to pile up and being the music director for Imperial Malaysian Night 2010, I could hardly find any time for blogging.

Summing up
Sorry for the late update. 2nd year is quite a hectic year for me. Though this year the number of study groups has been cut down significantly, I still find it challenging to cope up with every subject. More time has been allocated to lab work and music technology’s coursework. I need to come out with a music composition (3 minutes) that has to be submitted on the 11th January 2010. Ah! Enough of ranting..
One more day left before my Christmas break! I’m so looking forward to it! Here’s my plan. Josephine will be coming to London on the 23rd December! ^^ After settling down we will do some shopping the next day and go to my aunt’s house in the late afternoon for Christmas Dinner. Might consider going to Windsor on the 26th December with Josephine and aunt for some Boxing Day shopping. On the 28th to the 30th, Oslo here I come! The weather there will be much colder (-5 degrees?) so we need to make sure we are kept warm. On the 31st, we will be visiting Stonehenge and meeting up with Huong Eng and Ee Yun. When we get back we will be heading straight to the Thames River for New Year Countdown! For the following days we will be visiting museums and some landmarks in London. Will see how things go..
Anyway it started snowing today :D

Updates! Updates!
Gosh it has been more than a month since I updated! Finally our broadband was activated by O2 this morning! =D However the speed is much slower than the Imperial network, but life without internet had really put me into an internet withdrawal symptom. Basically I was busy moving into my new house which is located 18min-walk away from Imperial College. And I LOVE my room really much! Learned to appreciate this new room much more after all the stuff I've gone through during my 1st year stay in the hall.
Though this year the study groups have been replaced by classes and office hours, I found out that the course contents taught this year are much harder. Gotta be consistent in revision and assignments! By the way during the 2nd year we have to sign up for at least one Humanities/Language course, and I signed up for Music Technology! Basically we get to learn MIDI, sequencing, digital sound sampling, synthesis, hard disk recording, mixing and mastering to CD. In this course we are required to buy a pair of headphones for the course at the start of the term. Got myself this pair of Shure headphones.

Samurai Beetle
Recently there was a newspaper post about Samurai Beetle (aka the beetle with human face). They were talking about how rare it is but who says it's rare? There are already 6-7 of them flying around the pomelo tree right in my backyard!
Interesting facts about Samurai Beetle:
This beetle from Japan is doubly interesting in that it shows a different face depending on which direction it's viewed from. Look from behind and you're reminded of a bearded sage. From the front, the image is even more remarkable - a samurai's face, right down to the distinctive traditional hairstyle!
Of course, evolution didn't set out to give the beetle markings that resemble a human face - after all, the beetle was probably around long before human beings were. Many creatures - and insects especially - have evolved complex and elaborate recognition patterns that are intended to ward off predators. Often these patterns include contrasting eye spots... then our imaginative minds do the rest by using other features around the eye-spots to approximate a human face. Tis colorful Japanese beetle is a prime example!
